Dark Matter is still unexplained by the Standard Model. The Inert Doublet Model
offers a possible Dark Matter candidate by introducing a second Higgs doublet and an
additional Z2 symmetry, but its parameter space includes a region where the predicted
Dark Matter abundance falls below the observed value. In this thesis, we study the Inert
Doublet Model extended with Peccei–Quinn symmetry, which gives a multi-component
Dark Matter scenario involving both the inert scalar and the axion, and also introduces
an interaction that can connect the inert scalars with Standard Model particles through
a Vector-Like Quark. To study the phenomenological viability of this model, we used a
standard Monte Carlo simulation pipeline to simulate events at the 14 TeV LHC. We
then used Boosted Decision Trees to train a classifier and separate the signal events
from the Standard Model background. The results show that this model can produce
distinctive collider signatures and therefore provides an interesting scenario to search
for at the High-Luminosity LHC.
